Enjoy a private tour of Jarrow Hall as you discover the incredible world of Anglo-Saxon Northumbria and the extraordinary life of Bede - the father of English history at Jarrow Hall.

This exclusive experience includes a tour of the site and the opportunity to hear about Anglo-Saxon Northumbria from one of the amazing Anglo-Saxon re-enactors. You will also get to visit the museum, explore the farm and meet some rare breed animals,  before enjoying demonstrations of battles and activities which would have taken place during Anglo-Saxon times. Learn new skills with activities including blacksmithing, bread making and weaving, set to the backdrop of reconstructed buildings transporting you back in time to fully experience life as an Anglo-Saxon!

 

 

Also included is a visit to St Paul’s Church and Monastic Site, just next door to Jarrow Hall. The Venerable Bede (known as the father of English history) lived here in the 7th century from the age of 7 years old and the church’s chancel still survives from this time.
